Arts & Crafts and Auto Vendor Shows
Flagstaff Route 66 Days is a weekend packed event featuring arts and crafts, classic car show and plenty of continuous family entertainment.
In it’s inaugural year of 2005, this event attracted attention and positive feedback from those who attended. Demographic information collected from attendees rated the event as excellent. 2006 & 2007 were even bigger and better. Just wait till 2008!
Sponsored by the Flagstaff Route 66 Car Club and other local contributors, Route 66 Days is a free family event celebrating the history of Route 66 and main street America.
The Flagstaff Route 66 Days Event is a two day event for vendors – September 6 and 7 (Saturday and Sunday). Our event continues to grow each year, as demonstrated by the continued upward trend in vendors, car show entrants and spectators. The first car show in 2005 hosted 88 cars, 2006 hosted 200 cars, 2007 hosted 300 and we expect to have 366 cars this year. (The shows in 2006 and 2007 were early sell-outs and we fully expect to continue that trend this year.).
The event will continue to be held in historic downtown Flagstaff streets and city parking lots. We have listened to car show entrants and vendor suggestions on how to improve our show. The most common suggestion from vendors, car show participants and spectators is always the placement of vendor booths in a more central location among the displayed cars. We have very little space that can be kept available for the two day vendor event – basically City Hall parking lot or the Wheeler Park parking lot. This year we are moving vendor booths from the City Hall parking lot/Route 66 street side grass area to the Wheeler Park parking lot and part of the Wheeler Park grass area. We will be parking show cars in the City Hall parking lot and an additional street – Sitgreaves St. – to surround the Vendors and accommodate extra show cars. We hope that these changes will facilitate better access for spectators and car show entrants allowing for a more successful event for your business.
